…On the masthead of the Texas Scooter Times website for the last decade
or so, there’s a shot of all the nitro Harleys that were in attendance at Eastex
Dragway at the “Big Drags” in 1983... My racing partner that passed 5 years
ago John Blanton is seen on the far left, I’m next (was low qualifier that day -
just had to put that in), My current racing partner Paul Jones is next to me…
Bonnie Truett is in there, a proud looking Johnny Mancuso is in the middle
and that old photo MEANS A LOT to some of those guys in the shot

…Here on the TEXASHARLEYRACERSREUNION.COM site is a shot from the first HDRA Finals I held in Farmington North Carolina in ‘85 of all the Pro Harley Racers there and we’ve been getting a LOT of hits on that enlargeable P.D.F. Folks have really enjoyed seeing it… SO - while it might be a little bit of a hassle before Eleminations on Sunday and some racers might not see the value of it now - TRUST ME - In a few years or less - THEY WILL…

…As time gets closer, the exact schedule for the photo shoot will be posted, and it appears that we will be actually staging SEVERAL DIFFERENT SHOTS. We will call up all of the modern Open Fuel Harleys and the Top Alcohol Harleys for a photo session, We’ll call up ALL of the Vintage Nitro & Gas Dragsters for a session and in the spirit of “why in the heck didn’t I do this before” we’ll call up all of the Sportsman Racers for their own Starting Line Photo Shoot.

…Once we get each group up on the Starting Line with the bikes on blocks and the riders along side them - EVERYBODY IN THE WHOLE PLACE Will Be Invited To Come Out & Take A Picture…. We’ll line ’em up against the guard rail on one side of the track and so everyone can get a GREAT SHOT - we’ll have everybody taking photos from behind the guard rail on the other side of the track - SO EVERYONE WILL GET AN UNRESTRICTED PHOTO…. Don’t Forget Your Camera - This’ll Just Be A FEW of the FINE “MEMORIES” that Harley Enthusiasts can take home from the Texas Harley Racers Reunion “Gathering & Drags”…

SPORTSMAN CLASSES

CLASS (AAA) - 30" HARLEY 2 WHEELERS, Naturally aspirated, no nitrous allowed- otherwise modifications unlimited.
CLASS (AA) - 45" HARLEY TRIKES, Modifications Unlimited.
CLASS (A) - 45" HARLEY 2 WHEELERS, Modifications Unlimited.
CLASS (B) - HAND SHIFT FL, Any hand shift, foot clutch, Big Twin under 81", modifications unlimited as long as it remains street legal.
CLASS (C) - HANDSHIFT STROKER, Any Handshift, foot clutch, Big Twin over 81", modifications unlimited as long as it remains street legal.
CLASS (D) - STOCK XL, Sportsters 900c.c. & 1000c.c. Iron head, close enough to stock so as not to have a distinct advantage over a normal street stocker. Any pipes allowed, Factory O.E.M. carburetor only, 6" maximum swing arm extension. Must have all equipment needed to pass state inspection and charging system.
CLASS (DD) - STOCK XXL, Sportsters 900cc & 1000cc iron head close enough to stock as not to have a distinct advantage over a normal street stocker. Any pipes and carburetor allowed, 6" maximum swingarm extension. Must have all equipment needed to pass state inspection.
CLASS (E) - STOCK XL EVO, Sportsters 883c.c. Close enough to stock so as not to have a distinct advantage over a normal street stocker. Any pipes allowed, Factory O.E.M. carburetor only, 6" maximum swing arm extension. Must have all equipment needed to pass state inspection and charging system.
CLASS (F) - HOT STREET XL, Sportsters with performance modifications including light chassis or XR 1000, EVO 1100 or 1200 motors. Must have all equipment to pass state inspection and charging system.
CLASS (FF) - HOT STREET XL BUELL, Sportster based Buells, any modification allowed, 1200cc max, must have all equipment to pass state inspection and charging system.
CLASS (G) - STREET RACER XL, Sportsters over 74". Must have operating head and taillights, normally aspirated only.
CLASS (H) - SUPER STREET XL - Sportsters with aftermarket fuel injection, nitrous oxide injection, turbo or superchargers. Must have operating head and taillights.
CLASS (I) - STOCK FL, Big Twins: Shovel, Pan or Knuckle & 80" Evolution Touring Models close enough to stock as not to have a distinct advantage over a normal street stocker. Any Pipes allowed. Factory OEM carburetor or fuel injection only, modifications allowed. 6" maximum swing arm extension. Must have charging system & all equipment in place to pass state inspection.
CLASS (J) - STOCK FL EVO, Big Twins with Evolution motors & 2Cam Touring Models up to 95" close enough to stock as not to have a distinct advantage over a normal street stocker. Any Pipes allowed. Factory OEM carburetor or fuel injection only, modifications allowed. 6" maximum swing arm extension. Must have charging system & all equipment in place to pass state inspection.
CLASS (JJ) - STOCK FL 2CAM, Big Twins with up to 95" 2Cam motors, & up to 103" Touring Models close enough to stock as to not have an advantage over a normal street stocker. Any pipes allowed. Factory OEM carburetor or fuel injection only, modifications allowed. 6" maximum swing arm extension. Must have charging system & all equipment in place to pass state inspection.
CLASS (K) - HOT STREET FL, Big Twins: Shovel, Pan or Knuckle 80"Maximum, that have performance modifications or light chassis. Must have all equipment to pass state inspection and have charging system.
CLASS (L) - HOT STREET FL EVO, Big Twins with Evolution Motors, 80"Maximum, that have performance modifications or light chassis. Must have all equipment to pass state inspection and have charging system.
CLASS (M) - STREET RACER FL, Big Twins: Shovel, Pan or Knuckle over 81" under 108". Must have operating head and taillights, normally aspirated only.
CLASS (MM) - STREET RACER FL LATE, Big Twin 2Cam 103" Dyna & Softail models, 110" Touring Models & up to 108" Evolution models. Must have charging system & all equipment in place to pass state inspection.
CLASS (XM) - TOP STREET FL, Big Twin 2Cam 110" Dyna & Softail models & 120" Touring Models & up to 115" Evolution models. Must have charging system & all equipment in place to pass state inspection.
CLASS N - SUPER STREET FL, Big Twins with aftermarket fuel injectors, nitrous oxide, turbo or superchargers and/or over 115" engine displacement. Must have charging system & all equipment in place to pass state inspection.
CLASS (VR) - STOCK VRSC V-ROD, V-Rod’s close enough to Stock as to not have a distinct advantage over a normal street stocker. Any pipes allowed, Factory O.E.M. fuel injection only, 6" maximum swing arm extension. Must have all equipment needed to pass state inspection and charging system.
Class (VI) VICTORY-INDIAN, close enough to stock so as not to have a distinct advantage over a normal street stocker. Any pipes allowed, Factory O.E.M. induction only, 6" maximum swing arm extension. Must have all equipment needed to pass state inspection and charging system.

CLASS (VRCH) - V-ROD COMPETITION HOT, V-Rod’s that have performance modifications or light chassis. Must have all equipment to pass state inspection and have charging system.
